Environmental Protection Specialist (Grants Project Officer)-R4

Summary


These positions are in Region 4, Air and Radiation Division, Grants Management and Strategic Planning Office. About EPA Region 4 (Southeast)

This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis. Partial work-from-home flexibilities may be authorized.


Duties

At the entry level of this position, you will:
  • Assist in development and implementation of stakeholder/EPA partnerships for environmental protection programs, including negotiation, facilitation, creation, and evaluation of specific agreements.
  • Review grants, cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements activities related to the initiation, administration, and/or close-out of conventional or less complex grants, cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements (IGAs), including responsibility for monitoring performance.
  • Assist project managers on ad hoc teams, dealing with competing demands and priorities.
  • Serve as a technical/programmatic specialist in providing information to state, local and/or tribal governments and non-profits to help facilitate assigned environmental protection programs development within municipalities/towns/tribes.
