About the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention: OCSPP

This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis. Partial work-from-home flexibilities may be authorized.

Duties

At the entry level of this position, you will:
  • Develop and evaluate pesticide use data, data summaries, and data sources and/or information concerning pesticide issues;
  • Provide biological analyses of the use, benefits, and efficacy of insecticides and/or other types of pesticides and their alternatives for various regulatory and non-regulatory actions under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) and related environmental statutes;
  • Gather and/or assemble data for meetings, briefing papers, and presentations concerning pesticide registrations and related activities;
  • Facilitate the development of human health and ecological risk assessments for pesticides.

When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses. NOTE: Career ladder promotions are not automatic, and all eligibility and qualifications requirements must be met in order to progress to the next grade level.
